Well two weeks in and there were some great games of netball. Newly promoted Turangawaewae Premier have had two wins, as has Align Health Rangers Premier, FTNC Premier and Northern United Sports Club Mamba. It is looking to be an exciting competition.

Premier B

Pourewa Ruri-Clarke at GA and GS for Turangawaewae Premier

The game of the night this week was University of Waikato Premier Reserves playing Northern United Sports Club Mamba with nothing in this game. The game see-sawed through the game. At half time University Premier Reserve led by 19 goals to 16 but a strong final quarter saw Mamba finish strong to take the win 41 goals to 39.

In the all school game between St Peter’s Premier and St Paul’s Premier this too was a close game. At half time St Peter’s led by 21 goals to 13 but a great third quarter by St Paul’s meant they were two goals adrift at the end of that quarter. St Peter’s finished strong to win by 36 goals to 31. As always strong spectator support at this game.

In the other games Waikato Diocesan for Girls Premier won against Marist Verdettes Premier 53 goals to 30 with the half time score being 27 goals to 14 and Turangawaewae Premier went from strength to strength in their game against Melville Vetora Premier leading 31 goals to 9 at half time and winning 67 goals to 16. Premier A

Ngawai Hawera at GA for University of Waikato Premier

Allied HOB Collins Premier and FTNC Premier Reserve also had a very tight game despite Allied leading at half time by 25 goals to 19. The third quarter was drawn but FTNC Premier Reserve came back in the final quarter to come within 3 goals with the full time score being 43 goals to 40. Newly promoted Align Health Rangers Premier Reserve had a tough game against FTNC Premier but had a strong first half. The score was 31 goals to 29. The damage was done in the second half with FTNC winning 67 goals to 57. Align Health Rangers Premier were too good for HGHS Old Girls Premier despite a competitive first half with the score being 29 goals to 24. A massive third quarter saw Ranger Premier win 68 goals to 41. University of Waikato Premier had a win this week against HGHS Langman. The half time score was 23 goals to 14 and they won 44 goals to 28.
