The promotion relegation game to determine who will be in Premier A for the second round was held on 8 June 2026 at The Peak with Allied HOB Premier (bottom of Premier A) playing against Turangawaewae Premier (top of Premier B).

Turangawaewae Premier had a large gathering of supporters surrounding the court and the team did not disappoint. From the first whistle they were strong, intense and committed. At end of first quarter, they led by 13 goals to 7 and at half time the score was 26 goals to 15. The third quarter they dominated to be ahead by 42 goals to 20. The final quarter was closer, and the final score was 55 goals to 30.

For Tūrangawaewae Premier it was a competitive game but there were plenty of positives to take away. The return of several players provided a boost, with Hariata White at goal attack building strong connections with the goal shooter, while Bridie Potts made an immediate impact at wing attack. Deyna Tukere also answered a last-minute call-up and, having been a key member of the team last season, bringing valuable experience and energy onto the court at goal keep. A special mention goes to the whānau who came out to support, particularly the juniors and aunties who stayed to watch the entire game. Their presence on the sideline reflected the strength of the club's legacy and the importance of whānau support within the team environment.

For Allied HOB Premier it was great contest with defenders Dani Close and Rasharn Neil disrupting the opposition shooting circle getting several deflections and intercepts. Despite consistent effort and persistence during the game unfortunately Tūrangawaewae were too strong and came away with a convincing win.

Thanks to the umpires and bench officials who assisted with the game.

The premier competition resumes on Thursday night, 11 June 2026 at The Peak for the second round. Premier A will include FTNC Premier, FTNC Premier Reserve, HGHS Langman, Lodge Rangers Premier, Lodge Rangers Premier Reserve, Turangawaewae Premier, University of Waikato Premier and University of Waikato Premier Reserve.
